“When I’m travelling, I like to stroll around and follow people in their surroundings as they go about their daily lives; people are waiting or walking, working or eating and there’s always something beautiful, something special. All the pictures tell little stories about love and desire, about loneliness and happiness, about inconsistency, juxtaposed humour and, last but not least, about myself.”

Werner Mansholt

Werner Mansholt is a German photographer born in 1949 and based in Darmstadt. After studying law and political sciences he worked as a labour lawyer; but his passion was in photography, and he attended workshops with well-known photographers such as Anders Petersen, Anja Niedringhaus and Davide Monteleone.

Mansholt’s work has been exhibited in Teplice/Prague (Czech Republic), Plock (Poland), Tbilisi (Georgia), Helsinki (Finland), Kaunas (Lithuania) and Germany (Berlin, Hamburg, Darmstadt, Cologne, etc.) and has been published internationally, including in
LFI 2/2013.
