ONE PHOTO – ONE STORY

He reckons that he had at least 60 different professions, before finally discovering his true passion for photography. The diversity of the Polish photographer's former life is equal to the diversity of his creativity as he travels around Iceland. Picking up interesting materials he just happens to find along the way, it can often take a while before he gets to use them: “I am holding the three buoys. I picked them up from the beach, and I've been driving with them for a month -- waiting for a foggy day up in the mountains in front of our house. Drove up there and got lost for a couple of hours in dense milky fog,” he remembers.

How fortunate that on this occasion, too, his analogue Leica M6 came into play: the perfect tool for capturing his typical, slightly absurd, self-portraits: “Most of the photographs show me in a raw surrounding, where I fight for survival, becoming wild and mismatched in nature with an absolute inability to find myself in rough terrain,” the photographer explains.

Fortunately, so far he has always managed to find his way back. Let's hope he will also soon manage to find a publisher for his farcical series.
