“It was a cold, autumn morning in Soho, New York City. I was in front of a small café drinking an espresso. I was there professionally and had a day off after finishing the job. The café was at the corner of Canal Street and Broadway, and at the time there was a bank at the intersection. All of a sudden, a large off-road vehicle stopped on the corner, directly in front of the bank. Through the window I could see that the driver was wearing a balaclava. My mind immediately came up with the worst kinds of scenarios. Even so, I picked up my camera and my coffee. I carefully approached the driver and asked if I could take a photo. He agreed. When I asked him why he was wearing a balaclava, he explained that he had just purchased it, and that he thought it was so cool that he immediately decided to put it on.

In the photo you can see that I have my coffee in one hand and the M6 in the other.”

...was born in Dessau in 1997. After graduating, he studied business administration with the aim of becoming a tax consultant. A chance encounter with a photographer put other things in motion, however. He lives in Berlin and works as a photographer and a DoP. He is a fan of Leica cameras and likes to ride racing bikes. During the lockdown and pandemic he brought out the photo-zine nebenan, which speaks about the beauty of the Berlin-Brandenburg region.
