This 29 year-old woman is from Bosnia-Herzegovina. A congenital liver disease has caused osteoporosis and, combined with ballet classes taken from an early age, this has resulted in crooked feet. She fled to Denmark with her family when she was 9, and is now living in Copenhagen. She still does ballet.
The picture is part of the Six Degrees of Copenhagen series. For that series, the photographer approached people on the street and asked if he could portray them in their own private surroundings.
