Metropolis Challenge – A selection

July 23, 2020

Street lights, city bustle, architectural art: with the Metropolis-Challenge we venture a look outside our own four walls again.
With our From-Home-Challenge a few weeks ago, we were able to confirm that our users’ creativity was still thriving despite being confined within four walls. Next we dared them to take a cautious look outside their front doors: as part of our Metropolis Challenge, they were asked to show how they characterise the typical hustle and bustle of an urban setting. We received a broad range of very diverse perspectives – from classic skyline shots and images capturing the beating pulse of the big-city masses, all the way to architectural aspects and experimental concepts. Last but not least, having recently regained their freedom, many photographers found themselves seeing familiar corners of their cities with totally new eyes.

Once again, we really appreciate the lively participation – an overview of all the submissions can be found here.

With the Metropolis Challenge having reached a very worthy conclusion, the next one, the Portrait Challenge, is now impatient to hit the tracks. Please send us your best, most exciting, and most touching portraits, and you may just find your work honoured with a blog post or in the Lightbox segment of our magazine!
