Hobby and professional photographers alike found solace in capturing their immediate surroundings, and in the knowledge that they were using their time in quarantine in a positive and productive manner. So it seemed more than fitting to launch our From Home Challenge – inviting all photography enthusiasts to email or upload their individual perspectives to the LFI.Gallery.
Rarely has a venture of this kind been such a major talking point in our editorial offices, or yielded such a daily flood of visual treasures and compelling stories. Working in confined spaces and under difficult circumstances, our participants managed to create exceptional photo projects – some of which were presented in special blog entries, regardless of whether they were visual diaries, personal stories or new artistic approaches.
We also received countless creative, life-affirming and high-quality single images, of which we can present only a limited cross-section. Our selection ranges from dreamlike still lifes and sensitive portraits, all the way to the now iconic scenes of deserted urban spaces. To view the collection of all entries, follow the link.
As we emerge from the turmoil of the past months, we would like to conclude our From Home Challenge with this presentation, and thank all participants for their prolific and outstanding work.
