Rich Hardcastle used a Leica SL to capture the reactions of the winners and eulogists. Greg Williams, equipped with a Leica S (Typ 007) and a Q, concentrated on the nominees' party and the excitement among the audience. Sarah M. Lee, whose pictures of last year's Bafta ceremony were recently exhibited at the Leica Store in Mayfair, also captured the atmosphere of the glamorous event. Her pictures were taken with a Leica M (Typ 240) and a Q, and appeared in the Guardian. The official portraits at the Bafta Boutique Studio were shot by Gavin Bond with the Leica S system. In addition to playing a role in the exhibition programme, a selection will appear in GQ Magazine.
The winner of the evening was Leonardo DiCaprio, who received the best actor in a leading role award for his work in The Renevant. The best actress in a leading role award went to Brie Larson for her work in Room. Best actress in a supporting role went to Kate Winslet for her work in the film Steve Jobs. These and all the other winners (www.awards.bafta.org) were immortalized by the four Leica photographers.
