“The concept behind these images was this: what would it be like if Jorge had stayed in his home country, but had still become the Jorge he is today?” Kotte explains. And so he set out to capture the Cuban-born entertainer – who studied nuclear ecology in Bratislava before settling in Germany – in everyday situations around Havana.

Anatol Kotte was born in 1963 and began working as a photo assistant for commercial photographers in 1981. During this time, Anatol Kotte developed his passion for portraits, which continues to this day. His portraits were published internationally and nationally in magazines and newspapers.
