LFI Workshop with Magnum photographer Matt Black
on November 21 and 22, 2015, 10am to 6pm
In photography, all things pass through you. This workshop will focus on developing your ideas, deepening themes, and establishing an ongoing visual dialogue with your subject. Effective photographs are instantaneous and intuitive, but building a body of work demands thought. This workshop deepens your perceptive skills as a photographer.
Matt Black was born in California in 1970. His work focusses on the themes of migration, agriculture, social inequality and the environment in his home country and in southern Mexico. Black has received awards from the Magnum Foundation, World Press Photo and the Pulitzer Center on Crisis Reporting, among others. Black lives in California and became a Magnum Agency nominee in 2015.
