The Stanley Greene exhibition Along the Running Waves of the Caspian Sea remains on display in Perpignan, France, up until December 18, 2016.

Following the Running Waves of the Caspian Sea is a photographic journey of the Paris-based Leica photographer. It is a journey into the past, for which Greene opened up his photographic archives for the very first time. The exhibition offers a retrospective glimpse at the last twenty five years of the photographer’s journalistic activities around the Caspian Sea. It presents colour, and black and white images unpublished to date, taken in Iran, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Russia and Turkmenistan.

Stanley Greene was born in Brooklyn, New York, in 1949. An encounter with W. Eugene Smith sparked off a passion for photo journalism. Greene became known for his documentation of the Chechen War, and has so far received five World Press Photo Awards, among others. He is a member of the NOOR Agency and lives and works in Paris.
