COCO CHANEL BY WILLY RIZZO

July 21, 2017

From July 24 to August 31, 2017, the Leica Gallery in Salzburg in collaboration with the Hotel Sacher Salzburg, is presenting an exhibition of works by Willy Rizzo.
Willy Rizzo (1928–2013) had all the great stars in front of his lens. From Marilyn Monroe to Brigitte Bardot, from Marlene Dietrich to Jack Nicholson. He worked for the great agencies and magazines around the world, including Paris Match, Life and Vogue.

Rizzo’s black and white photographs of Coco Chanel, the Grande Dame de la Haute Couture, are among the most personal and best ever taken of her. Gabrielle (Coco) Chanel was convinced by his work as an artist – the chemistry between them worked – and she trusted him implicitly. The viewer can clearly see and feel this in the pictures.

The pictures in the exhibition are up for sale. They were produced in small, limited editions and personally signed by the artist.

The exhibition is on display at the Hotel Sacher Salzburg from July 24 to August 31, 2017.
