Nusch Eluard and Lee Miller, Mougins, France, 1937
An exhibition of works by Lee Miller (1907–1977) continues at the CLAIRE Gallery in Munich until July 14. Titled Out of the Ordinary, it explores the artistic process behind Miller's photography, and the close-knit social network that formed the basis of her work.
Top model, party-girl, master photographer: Miller's creativity – be it her role as the assistant, partner and muse of Man Ray, her cinematic work with Jean Cocteau or her collaboration with Pablo Picasso – was always intimately linked to her personal relationships.
