23 March: LFI Artist Talk with Patrick Zachmann in Hamburg!
23 March: LFI Artist Talk with Patrick Zachmann in Hamburg!

In the lead-up to his LFI workshop, the Magnum photographer will present his work to the public during an Artist Talk at Springeltwiete 4, Hamburg. The event is free of charge, and starts at 7pm.

Throughout his career, Zachmann has repeatedly focused on topics that were off the radar of the mainstream media, such as the presence of the Mafia in Naples or the challenges facing migrants in Marseille. In 1989 he covered the events at Beijing’s Tiananmen Square, and subsequently documented the lives of Chinese citizens in exile. He has been a member of the Magnum agency since 1990.

In 2013 Zachmann released Mare Mater, a photo and film project in which he interweaves the stories of migrants with his own family history. The focal point of his LFI Artist Talk, however, will be his time in China and the resulting photo book So long, China.

The LFI Workshop with Patrick Zachmann still has a small number of available spaces.
