Leica Sofort ‘Limoland by Jean Pigozzi’

October 19, 2017

Introducing the first special edition of the instant camera made in Wetzlar.
On October 19th, the first special edition of the Leica Sofort was launched at the Colette concept store in Paris. Produced in a volume of only a few thousand units, the ‘Limoland’ model derives its name from the fashion label created by French-Italian photographer, entrepreneur and art collector Jean Pigozzi.

The company’s logo – an illustrated character known as Mr. Limo – now graces the front and rear panels of this special edition camera in the form of premium quality foils. Originally, Mr. Limo was a ‘happy face’ found in a colourful painting by George Lilanga (1934–2005) of the Makonde tribe in Tanzania, which Jean Pigozzi licensed from the late artist’s heirs. The same graphics are also featured on the camera’s carrier strap made by Artisan&Artist.

Aside from its dynamic exterior, the Leica Sofort ‘Limoland by Jean Pigozzi’ is identical to the serial model with regards to all technical specifications.
