Photography and Reality

December 6, 2017

The exhibition Points of View. Relating to Reality’ is currently displayed at the Art Foyer of the DZ Bank Art Collection in Frankfurt-am-Main, continuing until 6 January 2018.
The DZ Bank Art Collection alternates two exhibition formats on an annual basis: f/12.2 (showcasing the work of the company’s grant recipients), and Points! of[/i] View – presenting artworks from the DZ Bank Art Collection. This year’s exhibition was curated by Thomas Rietschel, former president of the Frankfurt University of Music and Performing Arts.

With a selection of works by photographers such as Gregory Crewdson, Joan Fontcuberta, Anton Henning, Barbara Klemm and Barbara Probst, Rietschel examines the question of what constitutes reality, what gives rise to it, who defines it, and what is its role in the context of media reports – particularly with regards to the discussion surrounding ‘fake news’.

The group exhibition continues at the Art Foyer of the DZ Bank Art Collection in Frankfurt-am-Main until 6 January 2018.
