The photographers exhibiting at Format17 have been announced! The festival in Derby, UK, takes place from 23 March to 23 April 2017.
Photographers from 68 countries have entered their work for this year’s Format festival – with an international jury selecting 50 projects to be presented at the event. Among the exhibiting artists are Claudius Schulze, Jon Tonks, Poulomi Basu, Martin Parr and Ricardo Cases, as well as Leica photographers Ciril Jazbec and Jost Franko. The festival also features several award ceremonies, including the Format Open Call Award endowed with 2,000 British Pounds.
The jury comprised of Simon Bainbridge, editor at British Journal of Photography; Dewi Lewis, publisher; Fiona Rogers, Global Business Manager at Magnum Photos; Erik Kessels, curator and managing director at KesselsKramer; Wang Baoguo, editor at Chinese Photographers magazine; and Sheyi Bankale, editor at Next Level magazine.
