The exhibition comprises excerpts of Hoepker’s political and societal oeuvre. Among them are images of boxing icon Muhammed Ali taken in 1966 as well as documentary photographs of the New York terror attacks in 2001.
Thomas Hoepker (born 1936) counts as one of the leading representatives of social-documentary photojournalism. In 1989 he was the first German photographer to become a full member of Magnum Photos, serving as the agency’s president from 2003 to 2007. Hoepker received the Leica Hall of Fame Award in 2014.
